Uninsured workers should have a say
Uninsured workers should have a say
More than 300,000 Virginians have a chance to obtain health insurance and access to regular medical care, but Gov. Bob McDonnell thinks it would be too much of a bother. State legislators will make the final decision on whether to expand the Medicaid insurance program, and before they journey to Richmond next month for the General Assembly’s winter session, they should ask constituents what they think. They should ask the waiter at their neighborhood restaurant, the grocery store clerk, their child’s day care worker and their barber or hairstylist. In other words, legislators should talk to the workers who are most likely to be uninsured.
